Established in 2014, La Maison des Oiseaux is a CA licensed, in-home preschool/daycare located in the Castro District. We offer an intimate, French-immersion environment where children ages 2-5 learn and grow. Because large classrooms can be overwhelming, we keep our group small by design. With a student-teacher ratio of 5:1 or less, we ensure your child gets the individualized attention they deserve to make their first school experience truly rewarding.
Our days are filled with a rich variety of activities, from French culinary projects and gardening to music, yoga, and arts and crafts. We seamlessly integrate French language and culture into our daily rhythm, alongside foundational lessons in counting, the alphabet, and social development. New to French or still potty-training? No problem—we will help with both.

8:30: Arrival and unstructured playtime
9:00: Enrichment Activities (arts, culinary, yoga, gardening & music)
10:00: Morning snack
10:30: Outdoor & indoor physical activities
12:00: Lunch
12:45: Story-time & nap/rest
3:00: Afternoon snack
4-4:30: Wrap-up, story-time, & pick-up
Food: Parents pack lunch; we provide snacks & drinks.

We offer year-round enrollment based on current availability. To join our community, please follow these steps:
1. Inquiry. Fill out our contact form with your child’s details (age, gender, languages, and preferred start date).
2. School Visit. Schedule a tour and interview. This allows you to see our program in action while we get to know your child through play. An in-person meeting is required for all admissions.
3. Application. Once accepted, you’ll receive an application packet. A $500 non-refundable deposit (applied toward your first month’s tuition) secures your spot.
Since space is limited, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. To join our waitlist for future openings, steps 1–3 must be completed. Current families receive priority for schedule changes, followed by those who have been on the waitlist longest.

Tuition
Our monthly tuition is based on a standard 4-week month. Rates are $135 for a full day (8:30 am – 4:30 pm) and $115 for a half day (4-hour blocks). Monthly rates are calculated as: (Weekly Days × Daily Rate × 4). To ensure consistency for our students, we require a 2-day weekly minimum for full-day enrollment and a 3-day minimum for half-days. Tuition remains the same year-round and covers all school breaks and holidays.
A Little About Me
Bonjour! I am a French maman, educator, and traveler with over a decade of experience in early childhood education and French immersion. My journey began as an au pair helping raise multilingual children, eventually moving into the classroom. I taught in preschool and kindergarten classrooms and supported the French language enrichment curriculum for the afterschool and summer programs at the International School of San Francisco. I was also a regular preschool and kindergarten substitute at the Lycée Français and Chinese American International School.
I created this program to help children learn French, explore new cultures, and develop at their own pace. Growing up in France, I discovered that magic is found in simple things—the smell of garden-grown herbs, the taste of warm madeleines, and the joy of a blank canvas. Through our activities, I hope to bring that same "backyard wonder" to your child. Together, we’ll bake fresh pastries; pick and smell organic herbs and vegetables; watch seedlings grow; and learn to draw and paint.
I am a certified Next Generation yoga teacher for children, fully certified in pediatric CPR and First-Aid, and dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing space for your little ones to grow.
